SCOPE
UX/UI · Two-Sided Platform
01

The problem

People looking for tradespeople in specialized fields, plumbing, electrical work, refrigeration repair, masonry, often lack a reliable channel to find and book them. These are trades poorly covered by existing service marketplaces, which tend to focus on digital or creative freelance work instead.

02

Constraints

The product needed two genuinely distinct experiences under one system: a requester side built for people with no familiarity with booking a skilled tradesperson online, and a provider side built for tradespeople who needed to present their services credibly and manage incoming requests without friction. Both had to work smoothly for a non-technical user base.

03

My role

UI/UX Designer, freelance, for a repeat client. Designed both sides of the platform in full: the requester experience (45 screens, covering onboarding, search, filters, provider profiles, booking, payment, messaging, notifications) and the provider experience (22 screens, covering dashboard, request management, service listings, payments received).

04

Key decisions

01

Two interfaces, one system.

Rather than adapting a single generic flow to two audiences, the platform was designed as two purpose-built experiences sharing one design system: requesters navigate a search-and-book flow built around trust signals and clear provider information, while providers get a dashboard built for managing demand, not browsing it. This separation let each side stay focused on what its user actually needs to do.

05

Solution

A complete two-sided mobile platform: on the requester side, onboarding, search and filtering by trade, provider profiles, booking, payment, messaging, and notifications. On the provider side, a dashboard for managing requests, listing services, and tracking payments received.

Evidence

A complete, structured Figma file spanning 67 screens across both sides of the platform, with a dedicated design system and style guide.

Designed for the same repeat client behind PayPro, part of an ongoing collaboration spanning multiple successive projects for the same client.

07

Outcome

The design work resulted in a differentiated experience for both user profiles, with interfaces and journeys built around each side's distinct needs. Task Linker connects people looking for services with specialized professionals: plumbers, electricians, masons, refrigeration and air conditioning technicians, installers, repair specialists, and more.

08

Reflection

Designing Task Linker meant thinking through one platform across two distinct user worlds: service requesters and service providers. The UX challenge was building journeys suited to each side's goals while keeping one coherent experience across the shared ecosystem. On one side, the priority was making it easy to search for and reach out to professionals. On the other, it was helping providers present their skills, services, and availability clearly and attractively.
